Look into the Near West Side neighborhoods of Greek Town and Little Italy where Greeks and Italians first settled. Traverse Little Italy’s Taylor Street, as have generations of Italian families. Enjoy vibrant Chinatown on the Near South Side. Browse Chinatown Square and dozens of shops full of all kinds of goods from China and other Asian countries. Spend some time on your own exploring Little Italy and Chinatown.

 

Humboldt Park, Wicker Park & Ukrainian Village

For unique traditions and flavors, go to the Near West Side. Humboldt Park, one of the city’s original parks, anchors a namesake neighborhood immersed in Puerto Rican culture evident along Division Street. In nearby Ukrainian Village, the impressive visage of Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox churches invites photographs. You’re on your own for a dose of retail therapy in trendy, boutique-filled Wicker Park before heading back.

Little Italy, Pilsen & Little Village

Italian and Mexican cultures converge on the Southwest Side. Cover Little Italy by coach and then have fun visiting various Taylor Street storefronts on your own. Shop for keepsakes at Little Village’s lively 26th Street marketplace. Entertain another perspective encompassing art, history and heroes while viewing Pilsen’s multihued-murals and mosaics.
